Philatelists have the following hobby - collection of postcards, envelopes and other postal papers. Collectors of revenues have the same one, but subject of collecting is a set of documents: account sheets, tickets, cards, and others (). By the way, such material is the source of updating of collections. But, no doubt, paper documents are interesting itself.
It seems that the most widespread materials are the business papers: inquiries, accounts etc. These papers have mostly tax duty stamps (ordinary ones and "Poshlina" ones), but sometimes you can find chancellery stamps too on it. As for others revenues, special papers are needed. For instance, for court fee stamps the court inquiries are needed. Of course, such papers are rare.
Sometimes you can find tax duty stamps on the postcards, not as post paid but as notification about receipt of money or goods (). By the way, postal ministry had asking the additional post gathering. This fact became the subject of special court proceedings in the beginning of XX century, named as "dispute about two copecks".
Sometimes you can find charity stamps on the documents. For example, WWI Charity stamps on the documents of WWI age or stamps for disabled soldiers and orphans on the Soviet documents.
There exists a special type of frequently meeting documents without tax duty stamps. I mean passports. Fortunately, citizens saved passport very well, a lot of passports are stored in archives. Here we can find a number of revenues: address duty, passport duty, propiska stamps, hospital duty, local government duty ().
Looking at passports, we can see a difference in series of some type of revenues. Sometimes we can see a change of one series by another.
The other long-term document is the savings-bank book. Unfortunately, the variety of books was limited and stamps were of two series only - savings stamps and control ones. After the revolution such way of account of savings was interrupted. But we can say that savings-bank books were changed by account books of cooperatives. These books have two types of revenues: account of a fence of the goods and account of entering share.
Nevertheless, the most popular documents with revenues are the business papers. During the age of inflation the number of pasting revenues could amaze imagination. Inflation is inflation (). Sometimes tax duty stamps were changed by other revenues - court fee stamps etc.
The special topic is member fee books. Sometimes it has decades and decades of revenues. But we should detached it from the cooperative account books (). The value of member fee books is small due to huge amount of it. But some societies (Autodor etc.) are rare.
As for valuation. Two moments should be mentioned here. First one is the stamp as itself. I mean - rarity, amount of stamps and condition. Sometimes we should add beauty of stamp. The second one is quality, beauty and condition of documents as a whole, topic and text on it.
What is the first - it's hard to say. Nevertheless, stamps have their own values. But we can see the ordinary stamps in amount, here the most important the appearance of document itself. The aspect should be mentioned that document should useful for storage and presentation.
The ordinary simple papers with tax duty stamps cost in Russia market about 1-5$ per item. Member fee books has the same value. To casts more then 10$ the paper should outline - be beauty or has rare stamps. At this moment Russian market face to lack of this material - such sources as archives shoe the bottom.
